A Ukrainian official said a Malaysian passenger plane carrying 295 people was shot down Thursday over a town in the east of the country. All 280 passengers and 15 crew members are feared dead.
Ukrainian outlet The Insider is reporting that Malaysian Airlines Flight MH17, a Boeing 777, was flying from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur and crashed in the Donetsk region and was shot down.
The Associated Press reports that Anton Gerashenko, an adviser to Ukraine’s Interior Minister, said on his Facebook page the plane was flying at an altitude of 10,000 meters (33,000 feet) when it was hit by a missile “fired from a Buk launcher.” A similar launcher was seen by Associated Press journalists near the eastern Ukrainian town of Snizhne earlier Thursday.
Apparently MH17 was shot down accidentally by Ukraine forces when it was passing through the Ukraine and Russian border.
this is horrible, horrible! I’m in a shock right now.
“Peeta rinses the pearl off in the water and hands it to me. “For you.” I hold it out on my palm and examine its iridescent surface in the sunlight. Yes, I will keep it. For the few remaining hours of my life I will keep it close. This last gift from Peeta. The only one I can really accept. Perhaps it will give me strength in the final moments.”

But I was really determined to not give up on acting, and I saw you in a newspaper as a boy from Kentucky who was making it in Hollywood. And I took it to my mom, and I was like, Look, he can do this. I can do this, too.’” He pauses, smiling at the memory. So she’s nominated for an Academy Award and she’s telling me that I inspired her to keep going. It really took me back.
